The one to beat with...she is with Orange Belt

Think before you mess up with Dhevi. She has a orange belt now.

There is a long way to go. But as Master Choi says think only about your next belt. Now Dhevi only see GREEN. Ed will not be able to go to class for another month atleast. So even the makeup test Master promised would not help Ed. So we will take it easy. Probably he will be able to go to class from December.

T T Tear

Wednesday Dhevi wanted to take some TOEFL test(atleast that is the excuse) so she didn't come for the taekwando class. Ed went for the class and while practicing jumping side kick for the test he broke his leg. Turned out to be a muscle tear in the inner thigh. So he will have to work from home for atleast a week. It was very painful at first and got better after few days. Dhevi was also working from home couple of days because of that.

The biggest screw up this week end is the TOEFL test. Thursday while checking the test venue we noticed it is 210 miles from us! Both we and ETS screwed things up. Finally we decided it is not worth to drive 210 miles one way for a test. So it has been rescheduled after the Vegas trip.

The clamps for the speakers arrived this week along with the cable release for the 5D and two polarizing filters. Since Ed is a handicap now, Dhevi fixed the bose speaker on the clamps on saturday. It sounds better when they are on the wall! Also she cleaned up lot of the mess including cloths and junk mails.

Sunday some of Dhevi's coleague's came home for dinner. We grilled the chicken and chatted for long time. We slept around 1:40 on Sunday night.

Dinner out with a Mirchi Bajji

Friday Dhevi worked from home since she was awake all night doing her office work. Saturday Ed spent most of the time in bringing the accounts up to date. In the afternoon Dhevi was sleeping while Ed went shopping for bird food and some soil for the pots. He saw some cool stuff in Menards and called Dhevi to come over(with an added request to make and bring some tea). We spent around 2 to 3 hours in Menards and on the way back went to Sizzle India for dinner.

Sunday evening it was raining and it was the right time for hot snack. So we made the king of all the rain time snack...(Mirchi) Bajji. The weather was just perfect for sitting out and having a tea.

Here is the new addition to our plants...

Week end full of TV

One weekend full of TV. We told a friend that this was a Tennis weekend....and she thought we were playing Tennis the whole weekend. ha ha ha:) Well we were watching the US Open, Dhevi for the first time in three years supported someone other than Federer. Both finals were good....but Ed got bored in the women's finals with all the time it took for the serves. Come on a girl's got to do what she has to do.

There was bird in the pond, standing beautifully and enjoying the view.

All the mess created by receivers, speakers and general mess were cleared up today. House is pretty pretty again.

Receiver and Speaker-testing

Sunday evening Ed's colleague came to or house with his wife for Dinner. The special item was Salmon in a different style and sambar, rasam etc..

We fixed the mirror and hung it (finally!!!)

Touchy Techy

After Ed's MS exam, guess he was feeling out of touch with himself...So thought he would touch something which has not been used in a very very very long time...Here's Ed with that....

This week being a day short went away fast. Thursday Dhevi was working from home and Ed took off. That made the week even more shorter. Friday we got the receiver and the whole night went hooking up the receiver with the new Bose speakers. We slept at 2 leaving the wires, speakers, tools and the receiver in the hall all over the place. We had to walk carefully so as not to trip over the wire.

Dhevi kept quiet for the whole episode after seeing this...

IKEA

Today is IKEA day!!!!

We decided to go to COSTCO and IKEA after noon. Ed tried to get some sleep after the tiring Steamvac. Dhevi bathroom songs kept him awake and put him in a BAD mood. So can you imagine how the shopping was...? Good part was Schaumburg IKEA had both the Chaise and the Love seat. We bought few extra essentials:) and schedule for pickup next day.

Went to "Bamboo Garden" - a restaurant suggedted by Ed's colleague, Siva. Awesome food, we secured some food for next day's lunch too. We think it's expensive...but it's worth the $.

Monday we weren't sure if it was going to Rain. We were oscillating between going and picking it up or schedule for a home delivery. Since CLTV said we have few dry hours, we decided to give it a shot. Luckily weather god had mercy and the rain holded up until we took the packages in.

Pain of carrying it and assembling it paid of in the back rest/message the sofa gave. Kudos to people who found it.

Wheat upma and Onkyo receiver for lunch :)

What a start today, A wheat upma and egg cutlet followed by a fish masal curry and fish fry. Both recipes from "100 vagai Meen samayal". We started to love salmon more, didn't know salmon could taste so good. Let us know if you want the recipe. ;)

We had the lunch around 3:30 and by 5 Dhevi was asleep and Ed followed suit. Around 8 we woke up. A round of Pani puri around 9. We went to sleep around 2, both of us twisted and turned and decided we weren't really sleepy. So back in front of the system. Around 4:30 Am we slept.

Oh we ordered the ONKYO (OYNX -Dhevi could never get it right the first time :) receiver - TX-SR674 along with the iPod dock DS-A1.

Wash the Washington

Ohhh...a week passed so soon. Last weekend we stayed home, wanted to sleep in and take it easy, except for a trip to IKEA to choose a sofa. We chose a sofa and in the billing section we found out that it's not in stock. Need to buy it from Schamburg IKEA. We came home with few small things, like printer stand for Ed, Kitchen items for Dhevi. Monday to Friday don't know when the day ends and when it starts. Dhevi cooked after two weeks. Since Amma left we have been living on restaurants and Office food(Ed). Dhevi left her wallet at home after completing her long pending accounts. Didn't realise that until lunch time (Thank goodness Ed went to McD with her for breakfast, he usually does not). So on the way to "My Thai", Ed gave Dhevi a 20$ bill and said "Put in the pocket, but don't wash it". Well, Dhevi did exactly that, only when taking the pant out of washer she remembered the bill. Here's Jackson after a nice bath in the washer.
