Scarry pumpkins

Morning we woke up to smell pongal and coffee. We left delaware after stealing a road side emergency tool kit and pillows from there. On the way home we got some pumpkins to carve. Niha drew a scary face and her Dad carved that in one pumpkin and Dhevi carved a black cat in another for the girls.



We lit the candles in it and did another photo session.


Samyu realised we are about to leave so she became dull after trying her best to convince me to take her along. Next day morning we left PA. After reaching there was a long accusation from Samyu "Nee yen enna vittuttu poyitta...Unnakku adi kudukanum.............". Niha seems very grownup (I miss the Niha who says she loves me more than anyone else). She understands that we are there for few days and does not ask/tell anything about the trip

Its Diwali

Diwali Day - Samyu was the first one to get ready. she was so beautiful there is no word to describe it. Niha got ready and after a discussion about what dress to wear, she ended up wearing 3 dresses that day (one after another, ofcourse). Ed started to sleep while Dhevi was putting oil in his head and gave a massage. We got ready to leave for DE after eating the awesome feast amma prepared. We spoke to all relatives/friends to wish for Diwali and more chatting

DE - we need to go to more communication and scheduling classes. Ravi was left stranded for sometime before he decided to visit other friends while waiting for us. Best part of the weekend was seeing the SHOCK on suchi's face when she saw us. Good job Swathi!!! Swathi had prepared lot of dishes after coming back from her trip to Philly. Suchi and Palani from MD after meeting some friends. Ravi came with saran, aunty and ritvik. This was our first look at ritvik, he is a beauty resembling saran mostly. Ravi left early. Then it was the usual gang talk, cognizant, film industry, sports... Film industry talk started with shahruckkhan, bachaan and ended with nyandara...hmm interesting, never thought i would hear about her after chandramukhi. After an awesome coffee made by Dhevi :) amma she went to sleep. Then we started on the card, half way through the game everyone was sleepy. So left swathi's home to walked to Dhevi's earlier residence. Palani, had everything set for all of us to sleep.

Trip to PA and DE

Trip to PA and DE

Landed in PA on thursday(10/19) evening (after a long wait on Chammu's part. For past 1 month she will ask Dhevi when she's coming there.) Akka was in the middle of her final exams and she had just finished Accounting exam. You can imagined her state when she picked us up, after all our copassengers were safely home and snoring heavily. The kids were asleep when we reached home. They had decorated the home well, good pictures and cute little things that make the home cozy. But I would have akka's home anything but cozy. Looking like a IKEA model home (word from suchi), it has stuff in all possible colors and every color in the rug. The kids room was interesting. We went to sleep to be woke up by Samyu followed by Niha. Today is Niha's picture day so the morning started with getting her hair and her ready for the big day. After the photo session the pricess went to school with her Dad since it was raining. That day Ed was mostly sleeping.

We started on making murukku in the evening.

We bought a 3D projection of planets for the kids. We had told the girls that we can only open in the night. So when it got dark, the girls reminded us. Ed opened and set it up (Chandar had to go out for buying the c type batteries). We were amazed at the girls' knowlegde about space

Bad week and a worse weekend

Bad week and a worse weekend. It's the production cycle week of this month and for past three days Dhevi didn't sleep. So on Friday night she asked for help from her team to cover for her during the night so she could attend her TOEFL exam fresh. But irrespective of her requests someone else called her thrice for different tasks through out the night. Things got more settled in the morning she she felt safe to leave the home (away from the system) for few hours to meet an agent. Well let's just say that all the factors caused a horrible migrane and she came back home to work some more take painkillers and crash. Becuase of the painkillers the limited 1 hr sleep didn't help...that increased the pain. She went to the exam with that, spoiling Ed's afternoon sleep too, since he had to drop her. The exam went well, except for the reading part where she couldn't stare at the monitor for long. Finally the elusive TOEFL is DONE.

On the way back Ed was suggesting cooking. That would have been fine. But he was talking about making a grand meal. He mentioned everything Chicken, Fish, Shrimp, Biriyani, Chapathi etc. Dhevi was thinking how to decrease the items...because both were very tired. After parking the car he went promptly to the trunk to get the parcel from Sizzle India (the parcel has all the items except shrimp). BIG RELIEF!!! That good food put us in a good mood. Dhevi sat back at her work station and Ed went to sleep.

We had told Giri Uncle that we would start to Bloomington early in the morning. Since Dhevi was working we didn't know what to do. So Ed went to buy a gift for them and fill fuel. Around 11 we were free to go.But before reaching there, got a call from work that Dhevi should log back with in another 20 minutes. So few minutes after stepping into their house we were searching for the network. In between work Dhevi managed to chat with our host for some time. We left there around 10:30. On the way back both were very sleepy to drive. Finally we reached home and crashed
